Remodeling Sustainably

At this workshop, you will learn about the difference in mainstream and sustainably certified products and how to reduce your overall environmental footprint during renovations.

About the Instructors: Dawn Hjelseth is Director of Development at green|spaces, a nonprofit that promotes sustainable living, working and building. As part of her position, she oversees the East Chattanooga Empower Chattanooga program where instructors teach low and no cost ways to reduce utility consumption to residents. Dawn obtained her LEED GA in 2015 and has coordinated multiple classes and sessions around home energy efficiency and improvement since then. Prior to green|spaces, she worked at Habitat for Humanity where she restarted the Women Build Program and taught many of the classes around home construction. Ginny Kincer is an investor/trailblazer with Green’s Design & Supply and has extensive experience in the sustainability field. She has a real knack for collaboration and empowering people to advance sustainability in organizations and communities.

Payment and Registration: Payment required in advance. $35 until September 13. $40 until September 17 at 4 PM.

What you'll need: A way to take notes, signed liability waiver that will be emailed to you.

Cancellation Policy: We prefer at least a 36-hour notice if a participant is unable to attend. However, we do understand that this is not always possible. Participants who are unable to attend can receive credit equal to the amount of the workshop they were going to attend, to be used within 6 months.
