Come build carpentry skills, confidence, and a super cool shelf to take home! At this workshop, you’ll create a unique, stylish hexagon-shaped shelf from wood, and also find out how to turn them into honeycomb shelves. You’ll learn the fundamentals of measuring and joining corners, and how to use a miter saw, a power sander, and a nail gun with an air compressor. Heather will be running the perfect workshop for anyone who wants to learn basic carpentry skills!
About the Instructor: Heather Lacy is a self-taught artist and musician who fully embraces the DIY spirit. Born out of necessity, her diverse trade skills developed by tackling everything from roofing to tiling to auto mechanics. Heather’s love for carpentry started when she purchased a 100-year condemned home in the Highland Park area, learning everything from wood craftsmanship to interior design. Her mission is empowering women to overcome their inhibitions and be comfortable not only with power tools but also with mastering a project on their own.
