DIY Succulent Planter

  • 1140 Latta St. Suite 4 Chattanooga, TN 37406 United States (map)

Tickets

Come learn how to use a drill and specialty drill bits to create drain holes in both glass and ceramic containers to create planters. Drain holes are a necessity to prevent root rot and maintain healthy plants. We will also cover succulent care basics including topics like choosing the right soil, when to water, and seasonal care. We will provide one glass mason jar and a succulent for you to take home. You’re welcome to bring your own containers as well and can make as many planters as time permits.

About the instructor: Meri Wright is a native Chattanoogan artist and maker.  She earned her BFA with a focus in painting and drawing from UTC in 2016. She has always enjoyed upcycling items she has at home or finds in thrift stores into something new and useful. As a single parent, she finds it to be an eco and budget-friendly way to decorate the home she shares with her son and cat. Upcycling glass and ceramic containers into planters combines her love of plants and crafting. She may lack a green thumb but she has found success with raising hearty succulents and cacti. Meri is currently a freelance graphic designer and is working to build an Etsy store for her photorealistic digital portraits.
